Challenges In Our Life Journey

We fall. We break. We fail…But then, we rise, we heal, we overcome….

Healing shame

Shame is a powerful emotion that often involves feeling unworthy, flawed, or inadequate in the eyes of others or oneself. Unlike guilt, which typically arises from specific actions that violate one’s own moral code or values, shame often involves a more pervasive sense of inadequacy or failure as a person.

Couple's communication

Couple’s project their fears, unresolved conflicts and desires onto each other which can lead to misunderstandings and miscommunication. Early development with insecure attachments may also affect trust leading to defensive communication. Our psychoanalytical psychotherapy approach focuses on nurturing and strengthening the bond between partners, fostering a deeper connection and long-lasting happiness

Worry and anxiety

Anxiety is a real or imaginary signal in our mind that there is an impending threat that needs to be repressed or denied. Worry and anxiety are deeply rooted in unconscious conflicts and early developmental experiences. Challenging maladaptive coping and exploring patterns of relating may bring lasting relief from worry and anxiety and lead us to a more satisfying life

Psychological assessment

For people, psychological assessments through our Clinical Psychological Service bring self-awareness and insights into their behavior, emotions, and thought processes. This increased awareness can be empowering and motivating for personal growth and development. Understanding their psychological profile helps people to make informed decisions about their lives and mental health care. Psychological assessment supports individualised care, informs legal, educational, and career decisions.

Grief and Loss

Grief is a natural reaction to life when we experience a Loss. Grief is a universal and personal event. Depending on the actual nature of the Loss, people may experience intense sadness, anger, shock or denial as expressions of coping mechanisms. When a loved one dies, according to psychoanalysis, the person struggles to detach and sever invested energy on the deceased. The person also struggles to develop a new identity in relation to the Loss object. There are many kinds of Losses. A primary loss can be experienced as the ending of a relationship, while a secondary loss may be moving house.

Self-esteem

Improving self-esteem is a journey that involves developing a positive self-perception and confidence in your abilities and worth. building self-esteem is a gradual process that requires patience, persistence, and self-compassion. Be gentle with yourself as you work towards enhancing your self-esteem, and celebrate each step forward, no matter how small.

Worthlessness and hopelessness

These feelings are rooted in constant criticism, neglect, and lack of affirmation. People may come to the belief that they are fundamentally flawed or undeserving positive experiences in their lives. People may feel powerless to change their situation despite having the potential to do so. Persistent hopelessness can result in despair and persistent lack of motivation and energy. By practicing self-reflection, seeking support, and engaging in self-care, you can develop greater insight into your depression and take steps towards recovery and well-being. Therapy may help people to gradually reframe from their negative beliefs and thus developing a more compassionate and balanced sense of themselves.

Splitting

Sometimes people cannot integrate positive and negative aspects of yourself and that may lead you to see yourself, others and the world in extremes, all or nothing terms, whether it is either good or bad. When we find complex or conflictive feelings, we may be unable to reconcile them leading to splitting these emotions into separate and mutually exclusive parts. Psychotherapy work towards integrating these fragmented perceptions into a more stable sense of ourselves. Exploring the roots of splitting also impacts our relationship with others.

Narcissism
